Furniture Assembly / Disassembly Guide

• What is Included: Basic assembly and disassembly services include Beds and Tables with fewer parts (typically under 8 pieces).
• Here are some examples:
  • Simple beds with a headboard, footboard, and side rails
  • Tables requiring only leg removal or reattachment.
  • Desks that require minimal reassembly (e.g., legs only)

These services are straightforward and do not require specialized tools or extensive time to assemble or disassemble.

• What is Excluded: Items with complex structures or numerous parts (more than 8 pieces, including hardware) are excluded from standard assembly/disassembly.
• Examples of Excluded Items:
  • Wardrobes and large cabinets, especially with multiple drawers or compartments.
  • Flat-pack furniture (e.g., IKEA) with intricate assembly instructions.
  • New, boxed furniture that hasn’t been pre-assembled.
  • Beds with additional storage compartments, hydraulic lifts, or built-in features.
  • Chairs that have been previously disassembled and require multiple components to reassemble.

These items typically require specialized knowledge or tools and may incur additional costs or require pre-arranged services.

• Children’s Cribs and Bunk Beds: Due to liability factors, cribs and bunk beds will not be reassembled by Orbit Moving or any third-party providers.
• Specialty Items: Any furniture with custom or intricate assembly requirements may require a specialist and is subject to additional fees.
• Please ensure any complex items are noted in advance for appropriate handling during your international move.
• Other considerations: Assembly / Disassembly of furniture, new furniture or used furniture, which the crew has decided to dismantle due to access considerations or in efforts to reduce the size of the client’s move, is not included in this quote.

This service typically required a 4 Hours Minimum.

Rate: will range based on how many personnel are required to conclude the task. (In many cases, 2 persons are required), Travel time to site will be billable at the same rate.

New / Used items, which have need to be assembled require:

• Send us photos before and during the dismantling (Used items)
• Advise ALL inventory list items, containing parts of the item/s, which require assembly.
• Advise inventory ALL list item/s, where we can find the hardware required to reassemble the items.

New items: Provide a Web link / PDF attachment with assembly instructions.

Used items: Provide any helpful information to reassemble fast and avoid long hours by 3rd party.

This information is crucial for the accurate identification and allocation of a handyman to perform the necessary services. The more information we have the better the 3rd party can be prepared and avoid delays in service and additional billable time of service.
