International vehicle shipping typically makes sense when resale loss is significant, the vehicle has personal or commercial value, or replacement at destination is impractical.
In many cases, importing a vehicle is expensive, complex, and restricted. Orbit’s role is to explain feasibility before shipping, not after your vehicle is already in transit.
Vehicle Preparation and Delivery Guidelines
To ensure a smooth and compliant vehicle shipping process, certain preparation requirements apply before your vehicle is delivered to our facility. Your assigned move coordinator will provide detailed instructions after booking; however, key preparation guidelines are outlined below.
Before shipping, vehicles must meet standard preparation requirements, including professional cleaning (including wheel wells), appropriately low fuel levels, and removal of all personal items. Electric and hybrid vehicles require additional handling and documentation due to hazardous cargo regulations.
Your sales associate or move coordinator will review timelines, requirements, and available shipping options with you to ensure expectations are clear before shipping.
Clients must confirm that their vehicle is eligible for export from Canada and permitted for import and use in the destination country. Your move coordinator can help identify common import restrictions and flag potential issues early in the process.
Important note: No original documents are required for export customs.
Please keep all original documents with you and do not leave them inside the vehicle.
Vehicle Drop-Off at Our Secure Facility
Clients may choose to deliver their vehicle directly to one of Orbit’s approved facilities for export processing.
Once your booking is confirmed, your move coordinator will provide step-by-step vehicle preparation instructions and outline the documentation required for shipping.
Important note: Unless otherwise quoted, vehicles are typically released at the destination port. Destination customs clearance, local taxes, duties, and compliance with destination-country regulations are not included and remain the responsibility of the vehicle owner.
Vehicle Pickup from Your Residence
For added convenience, Orbit can arrange vehicle transportation from your residence to our processing facility for an additional fee.
This option may be ideal if:
- You prefer not to drive the vehicle or are unavailable to do so
- You prefer not to arrange local towing or transport
- Your vehicle is not in drivable condition
- You want a fully coordinated, door-to-facility solution
